DESCRIPTION: Discover the HITEz System, a unique method for tracking devotion to latex enclosure. This journal entry introduces a framework for quantifying spiritual discipline through garment-based rituals, turning the practice of wearing latex into a measurable journey of self-discovery and mindfulness.

Dear Marla,

There comes a moment in every RubberNaut’s journey when the practice demands more than just feeling—it asks for knowing. Not the kind of knowing that comes from the heart alone, but the kind that can be seen, tallied, and reflected upon - even quantified. That is where the HITEz System begins.

I had spent years wrapped in latex, losing myself in the embrace of my catsuit, the snug fit of my corset, the second-skin sensation of my gloves. But it wasn’t enough to simply *feel* the devotion. I needed to *see* it. To track it. To give it form beyond the fabric and the flesh. And so, I created HITEz—a way to measure the immeasurable, to quantify the spiritual discipline of enclosure.

HITEz is a usable way to measure the experience of wearing rubber. It’s not perfect. What it gives us is a *relative index* of intensity over time.

The name is a play on words, of course. HITEz—Hours In Total Enclosure—because every moment in latex is a point on the path. A point earned, a point lived, a point that brings me closer to the quiet, unshakable truth of my own existence. It is not about competition or achievement. It is about awareness. About accountability. About marking the time I spend in latex not as a fleeting pleasure, but as a deliberate act of devotion.

The system is simple, but it is not arbitrary. An hour in a ‘gimp’ catsuit, sealed in total enclosure, earns me 1z. This suit includes gloves, socks, and a hood with only a cluster of micro-perforations around the nostrils for breathing. It covers 100% of the body. By definition, wearing it for an hour earns 1 HITEz, or, in shorthand, 1z. It’s not complex. A full day in, say, a 50% coverage garment, moving through the world with the constant, comforting pressure of latex against my skin, for, say, 10 hours, earns me 5z. (10 hours times 50% enclosure.) This metric of my experience is not just about time—it is about intensity. The more I give myself to the practice, the more the practice gives back.

I use a Rule of Nines Burn Coverage Chart I found on the Internet to make estimating coverage % for my garments. That makes it much easier to do and introduces continuity in my numbers.

I use a spreadsheet for my HITEz log because I have numerous garments—it does all the nasty date math and makes tracking my rubbering activities much easier. If you have only one or two garments to track, pencil and paper works fine.

But HITEz is more than numbers. It is a ritual in itself. A HITEz Quota gives us a goal which ‘gamifies’ the system, adding incentive to maintain an ongoing, quantifiable level of rubbering. The act of recording my time, of noting the garments I wore and the sensations I felt, becomes a moment of reflection. It forces me to pause, to consider: Why did I wear this today? How did it make me feel? What did it teach me? The system turns the abstract into the concrete. It turns my devotion into something I can hold in my hands and see ‘on paper’, something I can look back on and say, Yes. This is the life I have chosen. This is the path I walk.

James once asked me if it felt like a chore, keeping track of it all. I told him no. It’s an act of love! It feels like a conversation. A dialogue between me and my practice. The HITEz System is my way of speaking back to the latex, of acknowledging the moments it gives me. It is my way of saying thank you to the catsuit that holds me, the corset that shapes me, the gloves that remind me I am here.

And so, every evening, I sit with my spreadsheet journal and I tally the points. Some days, the numbers are high. Other days, they are modest. But every day, they are mine. A record of my devotion, my discipline, my journey. The HITEz System does not judge me. It does not demand more than I can give. It simply witnesses. And in that witnessing, I find a kind of peace.

Adding a quota to work toward provides challenge and a sense of purpose. It makes the practice meaningful.

This is the beauty of HITEz: it does not ask me to be perfect. It asks me to be present. To show up, to don the latex, to breathe, to be. And in that presence, I find the heart of my practice. The numbers are just the echo of a deeper truth—the truth that I am here, I am whole, and I am home in the embrace of my garments.
